I often think about what my life would be like if I hadn’t made the decisions I made, or if my personality and the way I present myself to the world were completely different. I think it’s a common concern, but I feel these questions intensify in our twenties. It’s a stage in which we begin to truly take ownership of our lives: we make decisions that will shape our future, we meet people who transform our worldview, and we distance ourselves from others with whom we no longer share anything. We love, we make mistakes, we reconcile with our traumas, and we begin, little by little, to understand what life is all about.
Alter Ego is a project of introspection: a space where, for a moment, you can show a version of yourself that you don’t show in everyday life. That version that you keep hidden and that, for whatever reason, never comes out. When I was little, I loved dressing up and inventing parallel lives, and I wanted those who participated to experience something similar.
